The Advanced Studies in Culture Foundation (ASCF), seeks to spark conversations between teenagers and parents about their faith and values and how to live a life of meaning and purpose through its Faithful Presence and the Christian Formation of Youth program. Founded by Dr. James Davidson Hunter and based at the University of Virginia, ASCF supports the highly respected Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture (IASC) and its efforts to promote interdisciplinary research and programs to explore cultural change and its individual and social consequences. IASC is widely known for its work with seminaries, churches, networks of Christian leaders, and other faith-based organizations. IASC will create videos and accompanying materials that foster conversations between parents and youth about how parents draw on their faith and values to serve others through different professions and various fields of work. Using scripture and church teachings, the videos will feature interviews with Christians in different professions and their teenage children, as well as footage of Christians in various employment fields.
