The Empowering Families for Spiritual Formation

The Empowering Families for Spiritual Formation program will begin with listening sessions with parents in partner churches and recruiting several congregations to participate in a pilot program. Drawing on insights from the listening sessions, the Divinity School will create a spiritual formation curriculum and resources for families that focus on simple and practical Christian practices for parents and children. Pilot congregations will test the curriculum, which includes congregation-based parent support groups, retreats and weeknight programming for parents, and provide feedback about its usefulness. The Divinity School will then share the most effective parenting strategies and resources to alumni and local congregations and through denominational networks.
