Formation in the Ozarks

College of the Ozarks will expand its Vocation as Formation in the Ozarks program. The college hosts a K-12 laboratory school and a child development center, which together serve about 670 children. In the first year of this program, college staff will listen to and build relationships with the parents of the school and center to explore their hopes for the faith formation of their children as well as engage in conversations with congregational leaders in the region about their current practices for supporting parents. Drawing on insights from parents and congregational leaders, the program will produce Christian formation resources and invite families to use these resources to explore Christian practices at home. Feedback from the families will be incorporated into revised resources that will be made available to parents and congregations. The college also will share insights learned at Christian educator conferences and educational events held on campus.
