Esperanza Christian Parenting & Caregiving Initiative

The Esperanza Christian Parenting & Caregiving Initiative seeks to help parents and caregivers, as well as local congregations, share their faith and values with their children through contextualized and relevant education, resources, and inspiration. Esperanza will work with local congregations to host focus groups with parents to understand their hopes and challenges in raising their children. Drawing on insights from these conversations with parents, the initiative will produce resources to help parents engage in rites of passage and blessing ceremonies with their children (especially after acts of violence in the community). In addition, the program will develop youth devotionals, short YouTube videos that use insights from attachment and family systems theories to provide practical advice for parents, and a sermon series for ministry leaders about how congregations can support families.
