The Advancing Intergenerational Orthodox Faith and Values program seeks to help parents and caregivers in the Orthodox Christian community to pass their faith and values to their children. MK-US will train 32 religious leaders each year to provide better support for parents and caregivers. The program will produce parenting resources in both English and Amharic (a common language spoken in Ethiopia) and make them accessible through a website and a mobile app. In addition, MK-US will organize regular forums for parents to help them navigate the process of raising children who are growing up in two cultures and host summer camps for parents and teenagers to strengthen their relationships. Lastly, MK-US will offer lessons for 110 children per year to teach them how to play traditional sacred musical instruments central to Orthodox worship.
