The Rhythms of Faith program seeks to discover and strengthen relationships between parents and programs that serve children, especially Christian camps and congregational children’s ministries, to bridge gaps in children’s faith formation experiences and to enhance formation practices in families’ homes. The program will invite nine to 12 Christian camps, which are known for their close working relationships with congregations, to participate in a three-year process that will involve camp staff, children campers and their families and church leaders to explore how camp involvement, congregational involvement and family faith-sharing practices can better relate to and support each other. Drawing on insights from the process, the program will produce resources to help Christian camps implement strategies to support parents of campers and strengthen the coordination of faith formation practices in camps, congregations and campers’ homes.
