Belmont University will convene a series of roundtable discussions comprising pastors, congregational lay leaders, songwriters, liturgists, Christian publishers, recording artists, and Christian parents to explore the connections between children’s faith formation and contemporary worship music, through their In Every Generation program. The program will host an annual songwriting retreat to inspire and support songwriters in producing original music for children’s faith formation. It also will identify up to 12 local congregations to serve as partner churches to test and refine best practices and new songs for worship developed in the program. In addition, the program will provide small grants to scholars and practitioners to help them undertake projects to strengthen worship and prayer practices with children.
