Grace Mission University

Grace Mission University (GMU) will support Korean American churches in designing communal worship and prayer practices that help children come to know and love God and grow in faith. First, GMU will visit Korean immigrant churches throughout the United States to observe intergenerational worship practices and conduct in-depth and focus group interviews with pastors, church leaders, parents and other participants to understand how they engage children in worship. Second, the school will form two cohorts of congregations, including small, medium, and large-membership churches, and support them as they design and test practices for incorporating children more fully into worship, especially by encouraging children to help lead congregational worship and prayer and family Bible studies during the week. Third, it will share what the congregations are learning with the larger Korean immigrant church community through seminars and a website.
