NURTURING CHILDREN THROUGH WORSHIP & PRAYER

National Lutheran Choir

Nurturing Faith through Song

PROJECT:

Tina Meckel

CONTACT:
LOCATION:

St. Paul, MN

National Lutheran Choir will serve children and youth in grades K-12 from across the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN and nurture a lifelong connection between sacred choral music and faith. The National Lutheran Choir will create a school-year choir in which children regularly learn about and sing sacred choral music. In addition, the choir will offer two, day-long "TuneUps" per year for children and church leaders to identify and prepare music for worship. In time, the Choir will begin to create small intergenerational worship choirs of adults and children who will sing together in local congregations. A week-long Summer Institute for older teens will advance their skills and undertake exploration related to sacred choral music, vocation, and faith. Finally, the Choir will meet with a cohort of worship leaders quarterly to explore how best to integrate children's music in worship.
