Nourishing Vocation with Children is a project-based effort that comes alongside congregations that are discerning how to center children in worship and prayer. Nourishing Vocation with Children equips congregations and their leaders with ideas, resources, and hands-on experiences, which integrate child-attentive music, theater, movement, poetry, and visual arts into worship and prayer practices. This effort allows congregations to reflect on the impact of their new practices on children’s capacity to know, love, and serve God. Projects piloted during the first year will be featured at the St. Olaf College summer 2024 Conference on Worship, Theology, and the Arts. Out of this conference, project-based cohorts of congregations will be formed. Nourishing Vocation with Children will also foster spiritual enrichment, teaching and learning, professional development, and a sense of shared vocation among participating St. Olaf faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
